Choosing a fiber laser cutter by 4 criteria

Source power (W). Determines cutting thickness and speed. But more power is not always worth the money: on thin sheet, speed is limited by how fast the mechanics accelerate, not by power. High power shows its value clearly on thick material.

Bed format (mm). 1500 × 3000 mm is the most common format in Vietnam. A larger bed increases machine size, axis travel and the floor area you need to prepare.

Table type. A single table costs less. A pallet changer lets you load while the machine is cutting — worth the investment only if you run continuous batches.

Assist gas. Oxygen cuts carbon steel thickest but leaves an oxidised edge. Nitrogen gives a clean edge at a higher cost. Compressed air is cheapest, and at higher power levels the speed of cutting thin stainless with air can approach nitrogen — provided the compressor and dryer meet specification.
